Story Behind a Name: newpollution design studio

The story behind the name newpollution is long and unnecessary… I’ll tell it anyway… It starts back in 1997 when a good friend of mine and I curated and presented a show on student radio. Whilst desperately searching for a title for our venture, someone suggested ‘The New Pollution’ (after Beck) — the name fitted our eclectic approach perfectly and stuck. A couple of years later, when purchasing my first domain name (still a novelty in 1999) — I purchased ‘newpollution.co.uk’  in reference to the previous creative endeavour. In 2001 it was time to push out into the world of running my own design practice and newpollution took on new life.
